"I left this company as soon as they started deceiving me with deductions for EcoBalance. "I've worked at Opticargo for a year, moving from Hoptrans. Initially, it was great - a small company with a good attitude and team. But since spring, the company has changed: they introduced Eco scores, penalizing drivers $10 for each percentage point below 88%, costing $30-50 per month. There are fines for not attending the office ($100) and for pauses longer than 8 hours ($300). Pay has been reduced by $5 since October, and drivers without ADR certification are penalized $10. Payment is now delayed by a week after submitting reports and requires an office visit to sign vacation documents, taken out of pay. One employee was dismissed without warning, making it too late to appeal. They also switched to using an old van with a trailer (rented), and now the company won't rent trailers, forcing drivers to pay themselves. Eco scores were introduced and drivers are being deceived. "My patience with this company has finally run out - a year and three assignments. Initially, things seemed okay. Managers had their quirks and a lack of understanding of work and rest schedules, but they didn't explicitly push for excessive hours, typically around 40-45 driving hours per week. Everything changed sharply in the spring. The company lost four lawsuits related to drivers and had to pay approximately €31,000 in compensation. Apparently, the boss decided to recoup this money from the existing drivers. They started deducting money for eco-driving, mileage overages, and even for driving an extra kilometer or two to a store, they would deduct a significant amount. "I have over 20 years of experience working in the EU and am not a pilot or a heavy drinker! I've always worked for a company for at least three years! I barely lasted a year at this one! I want to tell my story working for this company, telling only the truth and nothing fabricated. The company seems decent from the outside! Pallet exchange, ADR, and loading/unloading trailers are done by the driver for a small 'thank you'! They even deducted 40 euros from my pay for using Wi-Fi in Switzerland! Communication was with a transportation manager, but the driver still had to pay for it! Deductions for eco-driving are like a 'good morning' surprise, and happen after driving a van across Europe for a week before it heads home. The fabricated deposit wall of 500 euros was also a dubious experience!!! However, to be fair, they did return it, but only after many persistent requests!!! But these are all minor details!
