"I've worked at Kai Madsen for over 3 years. Pros include regular pay on the 15th (current rate is $88 plus ECO and seniority, totaling $95 for me), allowed paid parking, no fuel limits, minor scratches aren't deducted (at least I haven't heard of it), and maintenance includes showers and laundry facilities. However, replacements can sometimes be in uncomfortable buses, potentially leading to injuries. Work involves night driving, often with 9-hour breaks when deliveries are urgent, and schedules frequently exceed 90 hours every two weeks, with 15-hour shifts almost daily. Recently, pay has decreased to $12,000-$13,000 per month (compared to $15,000 two years ago). The company handles suspended loads and is transitioning to a system where drivers can be temporarily removed from their assigned trucks and housed in basic accommodations to ensure truck utilization, leading to instability and stress. This situation is highly negative, and I'm likely to permanently leave after an upcoming as"

"I encountered a very negative situation with the placement manager, 'K.' After leaving my previous job and submitting documents to this company, I found myself unemployed. 'K.' invalidated my residency permit without understanding the situation, leaving me jobless due to her actions."

"After almost 4 years, the company initially seemed good, but pay is unpredictable, arriving every 15th, with unknown amounts. I was abruptly fired for refusing to unload trailers (a task they deny responsibility for but penalize drivers for). I was terminated without warning while on vacation, leaving belongings in Denmark. Transportation from Kaunas to Denmark is free, but the bus ride is grueling (20+ hours). Dispatchers are constantly changing and often seem clueless. The salary is actually 84 (not 90), dependent on eco-scores (a gamble). Driving hours are demanding (9-hour days, 110 hours bi-weekly), with night driving. They deduct for everything, often without explanation. Base conditions in Denmark are okay, but early departures can mean sleeping outdoors. The company has significantly declined."

"This company has serious issues: frequent re-loads (14-18 in 8 weeks), pressure to violate hours of service (HOS) regulations, often hauling meat, and inconsistent communication regarding logbook entries. Drivers experience 24-24-45 hour off-duty periods, frequently exceeding driving limits, and unpredictable work schedules with long, exhausting commutes. Dormitories are often full, leading to sleep deprivation. There are frequent container exchanges, self-cleaning of trucks, and independent unloading in Scandinavia. Drivers are held responsible for others' mistakes, facing significant financial penalties. The fleet includes older vehicles with high mileage, and drivers pay for road tolls upfront. Management turnover is high, and communication delays are common."

"Reaching Denmark is a long and uncomfortable journey, always costing money. They steal taxes and vacation pay, and exploit drivers and their families. Pay is solely based on daily rates, regardless of night shifts or weekends – drivers are expected to work around 90 hours until they stop. There's high turnover, constantly replacing experienced and inexperienced drivers. The Kaunas office acts as if they've created something valuable, but in reality, they're creating corrupt schemes and avoiding Lithuanian labor laws. They only want your signatures on blank documents and a waiver of your legal rights."

"Economists have arrived at the company, implementing deductions of 5-10 euros under a program no one has seen. There's a recurring (third time I can recall) purge of experienced drivers, with minimal salary increases. Employees aren't valued! Driving is mostly at night, with pauses often only lasting 9 hours. When routes are long and drivers manage 11 hours, the company acknowledges it as 'standing for 9, waiting for a transfer.' Drivers are effectively working at a loss. The company has lost its claim of 'not cutting salaries.' After a term of employment, you don't know how much you'll be paid! Advertisements state a salary of 90, but the actual salary is 80, and new hires receive 70."

"The company's pay is unpredictable, with deductions for ECO (fuel efficiency) that are unclear and often unjustified. Communication with the ECO specialist is difficult due to limited availability and inconsistent explanations. Performance scores fluctuate without transparency, leaving drivers unsure how to improve. Experienced drivers are leaving, and the company favors hiring less experienced, more compliant drivers, often from overseas. Initial promises of high pay are followed by unexpected deductions, creating a sense of distrust and exploitation."

"This company consistently violates hours of service regulations, frequently driving 9 hours of work followed by 15 hours total, with a constant 15-hour workday when work is available. Rest breaks are often 24/24/45, with no compensation. Work weeks can reach 110 hours. Drivers endure ferry/train travel without cabins and are often required to unload pallets in Denmark during nighttime hours, sometimes in inclement weather. Pallet exchanges are frequent, and the constant driving is relentless. Avoid this company at all costs."

"Started with no experience, worked here for three years. The workflow hasn't improved; hours of service (ECTP) are still violated. Loading/unloading is often scheduled to barely allow for required rest. Frequent night driving, re-trailers, and being asked to haul loads for others when they fall behind are common. They take on any job and rush the process, prioritizing cargo movement over trailer downtime, leading to irregular 45-hour and 24-hour shifts. Rest violations are recorded on chip logs. There's a facility in Kolding, DK, with maintenance, repairs, fuel, showers, and a driver's lounge."

"This company exploits drivers, particularly those from Eastern Europe. Management in Kaunas, Lithuania, acts as a buffer, avoiding responsibility for violations they pressure drivers to commit. Communication is often coercive, with threats used to enforce rule-breaking. Drivers face constant pressure to violate Hours of Service (HOS) regulations, with multiple 24-hour driving days common and insufficient rest breaks. Excessive driving hours (over 100 in two weeks) are standard. The company may pay fines but attempts to shift blame onto drivers. Drivers are vulnerable to termination and face significant financial risk if penalized. The situation is exacerbated by a shortage of Ukrainian drivers. Experienced drivers are strongly advised to seek alternative employment."

"Applicants, please be aware: Autohoff is now prohibited, and eco-driving is mandatory with an arrogant 'eco-master' who demands compliance. The company has hired unnecessary staff, including this 'eco-master,' adding to expenses that are ultimately deducted from driver pay. Driver treatment is poor. Avoid this company if you want to avoid problems or, worse, legal trouble."

"Having worked at Kai Madsen for three years after leaving a worse company, I can say that if you're good at managing your time and routes, overtime becomes minimal. While there were issues with some employees affecting everyone, improvements were made to the facilities. The company is understanding and doesn't penalize mistakes if reported. While there have been instances of extended work periods, they are uncommon. It's important to be a professional driver with your own navigation system, as the company expects a high level of skill."

"This company is poorly managed and exploits drivers. Management prioritizes profits over legal compliance and driver well-being, leading to excessive overtime, disregard for rest regulations, and unfair deductions from pay. Drivers report being treated with disrespect, facing constant pressure, and experiencing issues with pay and benefits. It's recommended to seek employment elsewhere."

"I've been with the company for a year and a half, and they generally pay on time. There was one instance where a load had to be reassigned, but that was due to a lack of available drivers. I've completed two consecutive weeks recently. I rarely see Vladislav when picking up trucks; lately, it's been the mechanics. We've only crossed paths a couple of times, mostly by phone. The routes are repetitive, and if you can manage your time well, you can potentially wait up to 11 hours a week. The new dispatchers are a bit slow, but it's a workable place to be. There's a lot of competition for loads, and you have to work hard – there's no time for sleep!"

"This company is average, but drivers betray each other. Management hires inexperienced drivers to avoid paying higher wages. Vehicle damage is celebrated. "Alexander and Vladimir's comments are accurate. I worked there for 3.5 years. Initially, I didn't want to return after trips, realizing conditions were similar everywhere. The owner, Vladis, is a Lithuanian who makes all the rules, claiming they're from the Dutch. He favors those who flatter him, and drivers are disposable. Someone with no experience can be hired for less pay. They claim you must announce your departure in advance, but don't listen to them. I quit on Thursday and started a new job on Monday, then went to immigration. They said my residency permit couldn't be transferred because they'd already reported my departure, costing me €240 to reapply. If you're still working there, find a way out! Don't work there if you don't like flattery."

"This company is terrible. There's constant overtime, work schedules aren't followed, pay is unreliable, drivers are ignored, and pressure to drive long hours daily (10 hours a day) with short breaks (9 hours). Weekly rest periods are often only 24 hours, and 45 hours is considered a good week, but still stressful due to constant calls to skip breaks and drive. Trailer changes are frequent, assignments are lengthy in the tablet, and now they have gas trucks, which are problematic. It's constant driving from fuel stop to fuel stop and trailer changes. The director in Lithuania is unprofessional, and the Danes treat drivers poorly. Find another company to avoid stress and health problems."

"This is a Danish company with an office in Kaunas, Lithuania, primarily for paperwork, while operations and trucks are based in Kolding, Denmark. Routes cover Scandinavia to Italy/Spain and surrounding areas, with occasional variations. The company hires drivers without prior EU experience and often assigns them to reefer trailers. Minor trailer damage is generally overlooked. The truck fleet is new. Fuel consumption is somewhat lenient, allowing drivers to idle the engine for air conditioning. There are two bases: one with a cafeteria, showers, Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, and a truck wash; and a second, quieter base for reefer trailers and personal vehicle parking. Translators are available in Kaunas. Basic, but free, shared rooms are provided on-site. The downside is working primarily in Denmark and Scandinavia while receiving a Lithuanian salary (around €50-60 per day). Home time isn't paid. Getting to the base is the driver's responsibility, with a €150 allowance for travel. Road co"

"The company's office staff were unhelpful and seem to be constantly looking for excuses. They deduct money for damages even if you didn't cause them, and penalize you for manual trailer connections. Fuel compensation is your responsibility, and you're not given money for washes or parking. Expect to spend around 200 euros upfront. Work clothes are not provided, but you can buy them at the base. There are violations regarding pay, transfers, and time. There are no fire extinguishers. You're constantly loading and unloading pallets without pay. The trucks at the base are well-equipped. Essentially, it's only worth working here if you're already in Denmark. Pay starts at 40 euros per day and is only for days recorded in the tachograph. They've accumulated experience and are actively seeking drivers."

"This company isn't suitable for experienced drivers, let alone those gaining experience. Drivers are shocked by the constant overtime, violations of work and rest schedules, and frequent trailer changes. There's no appreciation for delays caused by trailer loading/unloading or traffic. Penalties are common for minor issues, and fuel theft occurs. Routes are exclusively on highways, but drivers are often assigned loads intended for double crews, potentially leading to four 15-hour shifts with minimal rest. It's a difficult experience initially, and the situation doesn't improve over time."

"Worked one term, the company is awful! Work and rest schedules are not followed, driving is done illegally, no 45-minute breaks are allowed, solo drivers only get a 9-hour break, not 11. At least 110 hours were worked in two weeks, they pay fines, but no one will return your health. There are 50 trucks in the company with no one to drive them, the work schedule doesn't match, they delay drivers for a week or two because there's no one to work, they treat people like animals. You must have your own internet to find loading/unloading, they only give the company name or city, you have to search for everything yourself! If you don't agree to work according to their schedule, the answer is 'you're fired!' The senior, Vladis, brags about drivers during instruction, but he's a rare piece of work. He can only walk around the kitchen with his chest out and a crown on his head. If you approach him with questions, he roars like a beluga whale.
